Nigeria is home to one of the youngest populations in the world; approximately 70% of its people are under 30. Yet young Nigerians have been told, again and again, to wait their turn. To sit quietly while decisions about their future are made in rooms they can't enter.
Citizens Square was born out of the belief that this had to change.
We emerged from a generation tired of political apathy, frustrated by misinformation, and energized by the possibilities of what Nigerian democracy could be. Inspired by the rising tide of youth political consciousness, we set out to do one thing: increase the political IQ of 10 million young Nigerians by 2030.
Not through lectures or patronizing lessons, but through conversation. Through education that meets people where they are. Through platforms that make politics accessible, not intimidating.
